HandManipulator

The HandManipulator can be used to control the hand fingers controllers in an easy way.

The HandManipulator simply changes the value of the phalange controllers (rotation) of an existing Maya rig.

  • controller_pattern:
    The pattern to use to get a phalange controller name, like “ctrl_%f%p_L”. The %f token will be replaced by the FINGER name, the %p token will be replaced by the PHALANGE name.
  • finger_token_0:
    The name of the first finger, which will replace the %f token, like “thumb”.
  • finger_token_1:
    The name of the second finger, which will replace the %f token, like “point”.
  • finger_token_2:
    The name of the third finger, which will replace the %f token, like “middle”.
  • finger_token_3:
    The name of the fourth finger, which will replace the %f token, like “ring”.
  • finger_token_4:
    The name of the fifth finger, which will replace the %f token, like “pinky”.
  • phalange_token_0:
    The name of the first phalange, which will replace the %p token, like “0”.
  • phalange_token_1:
    The name of the first phalange, which will replace the %p token, like “1”.
  • phalange_token_2:
    The name of the first phalange, which will replace the %p token, like “2”.
  • axis_close:
    The rotation axis to use to close the fingers.
  • axis_spread:
    The rotation axis to spread the fingers (not used right now).
