Please be aware that by default, Rumba uses optional online services :

Free demo license

If you use Rumba without a license, Rumba will ask the Mercenaries Engineering online license server for a demo license.

If you have setup a license, this request is not sent.

Crash reports

After a crash, Rumba may send a crash report to the Mercenaries Engineering server. Those data includes the operating system version, the Rumba version, a video card description, the anonymous UUID and the callstack. No memory data is sent.

To disable this report, you can uncheck the Settings -> General -> Send Crash Report option.

You can also define the RUMBA_NO_CRASH_REPORT environment variable on your system. See Environment Variables.

Updates checks

Rumba will check if some updates are available. In that case the user is noticed by a popup window that an update is available.

To disable this check, you can uncheck the Settings -> General -> Check For Updates option.

You can also define the RUMBA_NO_VERSION_CHECKING environment variable on your system. See Environment Variables.

Statistics

By default, Rumba reports anonymous usage statistics to Google Analytics with the anonymous UUID.

To disable this report, you can uncheck the Settings -> General -> Report Statistics option.

You can also define the RUMBA_NO_REPORT_STATISTICS environment variable on your system. See Environment Variables.

Anonymous UUID

As required, a random unique ID is generated in the file HOME/.rumba/uuid.json. You can delete it whenever you like to generate a new one. This UUID is sent with the crash report and the statistics.
